As weโre all aware, weโve seen, watched or heard about the amount of plastic that floats around in our worldโs waters โ it is incredibly frightening. Every minute of every day, one garbage truck full of plastic is dumped into our oceans, which has led to over 5 trillion pieces of plastic currently littering our oceans and affecting its sea life. This is something that KEVIN.MURPHY are here to change. Professional stylist Kevin Murphy and brand founder of KEVIN.MURPHY, has always been passionate about environmental issues, but it wasnโt until they created their first line of products that they really became aware of just how much harm the production processes of any product can have upon the environment.
And while some manufacturers commit to 25-50% sustainable packaging itโs great to see a brand run with the commitment of sustainability at full speed ahead โ the way KEVIN.MURPHY have; because these are the details that matter to consumers these days. And these are the details which will make a difference. One thing is universally true, โ we all depend upon our planetโs environment for survival.
And while a lot of us may adore fabulous packaging, the truth is that once we finish many of our beautifully packaged products, they just end up in landfill. In light of this fact, at KEVIN.MURPHY, they make every effort to help and protect the environment by utilising packaging that is recyclable or biodegradable. At KEVIN.MURPHY, they use only natural ingredients from sustainable and renewable sources, that are harvested in a way that does no harm to the environment at all.
This initiative has been a work in progress since around the mid of 2019 and although it has taken a little while to convert all products over completely, this campaign will not only make profound change on the worldโs plastic production but is the ignition to start conversation around industry standards as well.
โEvery piece of plastic that has ever been made โ ever โ is still here on our planet, and currently only 9% of our worldโs plastics are recycled. At KEVIN.MURPHY, weโre committed to changing these statistics and reducing plastic in the best way we know how: by cleaning up our oceans and reclaiming that plastic to package our hair products in order to create a circular supply chain.โ
